Few healthcare workplaces today can be considered true boundaryless organizations. Workplace trends within and outside healthcare are requiring employees to connect with an ever-widening array of co-workers, consultants, off-site employees, and other resources. Whatever form a boundaryless organization takes, sharing knowledge is critical to the organization’s success.
It should be noted that the primary objective of the paper is to describe how information is shared and how employees are involved in problem solving. We will focuse on organizational structures and each one has a different way of accomplishing this objective.
In the current essay we will review the techniques used in getting the workforce involved in problem solving that you have experienced and how these methods could be applied/modified in a healthcare environment. I will consider ways in which my organization shares knowledge and also involves employees in its activities, looking together for the proper solutions to problems.
Although there are many factors that contribute to an environment, effective communication has always played a leading role among them. Thanks to the productive efforts of people to communicate acquire a special meaning and the general direction. Organizations of different types depend on the existence of what Warren Bennis, a distinguished expert in the field of leadership and an adviser to four presidents the U.S., calls a “joint understanding and interpretation of reality,” which-rye promote coordinated action. When absent due between staff communication, all the symptoms of uncoordinated activities are available: unclear objectives, conflicting requirements, communication gaps, lack of coordination, confusion, low morale and the ability to perform only a basic minimum production, according to Importance of effective communication in organization (2010).
Despite the fact that culture and communication styles differ, there are predictable and well-known principles, which, as I said, equally represented in high-end call-centers. The most important are:
• keep people informed of the case;
• create a corporate culture;
• establish appropriate means of communication;
• develop formal and informal channels of communication;
• create an organizational structure and rules to facilitate communication;
• listen to their employees, and participate in discussion;
• Do not overdo it with dialogue.
The leaders of an organization with high performance always try to keep employees informed. As a fact, they share good and bad news, which minimizes the amount of rumors that impede productive dialogue, and fosters a climate of trust. It sounds simple, but actually the implementation of this rule is only a first step. Experience shows that managers have put effective communication in the first place in its list of priorities, achieve transparency of relations in the organization and improve performance.
