To explain how I personally apply critical thinking in my decision making experience, I would like to demonstrate it through the situation that I became familiar with at my office, while I was working in the bank. As the banking industry is integrating to different countries and my bank was not actually an exception, establishing reliable relations, with the partners in different countries and opening new departments. We found very perspective partner from Saudi Arabia and my boss, understanding the perspectives of the region, decided to provide a meeting with the potential partner on his territory to make the relations between us more wormer and friendly. He perfectly understood that Saudi Arabians are not among the easy going partners, hence they are intended to provide huge investments within the industry and are considered to b very reliable partners. But the same time their cultural and religious background is very specific, that is why my boss got to take very complicated decision, whom to send on negotiations. Very perspective but young and less experienced male member of the team, or the chief of the department, who had bright recommendations and several successful negotiation experience. The decision was not among the easy one and certainly dealt with the applying critical thinking. I was the one who helped to gather information for him. My boss (and I with him) precisely studies cultural background of Saudi Arabian traditions, customs and cultural beliefs. We found out that women are not very much respected in the country, hence the young men are too not a good candidates as serious businessmen in Saudi Arabia prefer to communicate to the well experienced (experience means age) partners, that is why, the appearance of the perspective member of the team could be understood as disrespect to the partner and my boss desired very much to avoid it.

Detailed research and critical evaluation of the happened situation helped us to find the solution that would be acceptable to the both sides. I think that critical thinking in taking decisions like this, dealing with cultural peculiarities is very important as it is necessary to evaluate all the factors and provide the best decision, which would. It also involves deep analysis of the ultural background of the country. It won’t be possible to take such a decision, whithoiut analyzing the situation and providing possible result and their impact after the decision would be taken. Good critical thinking is one of the key traits of the successful persona and effective businessmen. I hope that this situation perfectly demonstrates my understanding of the critical thinking and even applying it on practice.
Personally I consider that critical thinking despite the work place situation is also often applied in our everyday life in different situations, hence taking important decision of the work place perfectly illustrate understanding and personal vision on critical thinking.
