It should be noted that contemporary Swedish design celebrates a wide variety of different crafts, which are united the same time by certain national identity. It should be noted that the traditional image of Sweden is far more different that the one depicted within the different pieces of art and craft. It is usually reflected in the dull gray colors, showing neither friendliness nor wide creative background of this country. Severe nature, which does not forgive mistakes to the travelers that, is the national identity of Sweden lands, depicted by the vast majority of the foreign artists.

But Swedish artists and Craftsmen was intended to show the tender heart of his motherland, but not it wild cruelty. That is why their creative activity: pictures, sculptures, glass are far more different than “traditional” image: “Diversity is the new keyword of the Swedish design scene. Emotional values are now reckoned to be as important as function in Swedish craftsmanship and design in general. Everything is tested and retested: aesthetic norms as well as traditional ways of working” (The Swedish Institute , 2008). The national identity of Sweden, reflected by the national artists and crafstmen is far more different than its “traditional image”. Personally I think that their works are more truthful than any other. It reveals “the real face” of Swedish design, the pure care and love to her children. Sweden has become a new motherland for thousands of immigrant from different countries, absorbing their cultures, hence with respect to the national identity. The country showed herself as caring and loving mother to her new children. The works of Swedish artists as immigrants as well as originally Swedish are perfectly revealing this unique trait of this land.
