Abstract
The company launching its business in Canada should follow IEEE standards, including IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11g regulating wireless networking transmission methods.
Introduction
Launching business in Canada may raise certain problems because the new business should match national standards in different fields, including standards existing in the field of information technologies and networking. In this regard, the introduction of IEEE standards was one of the most important steps in the development of legislation regulating the development of wireless networks in Canada. At the same time, the development of wireless network is essential for the contemporary business for the contemporary office cannot function properly without the reliable and effective network, whereas wireless networks grow more and more popular, especially due to the advantages of wireless technologies over conventional ones.
In this regard, IEEE, IEEE 802.11a and IEEE 802.11g are particularly important for the development of wireless network in Canada for they regulate wireless transmission methods and data rate.
IEEE standards
In fact, the company launching its business in Canada and establishing its office needs to develop its own wireless network to maintain effective communication within the organization as well as to maintain effective communication with its customers and business partners. At first glance, the wireless network is a perfect solution because it provides the office and employees working in the company with the high degree of mobility, since wireless network allows using such devices as laptops, mobile phones, iPads and others. As a result, professionals working in the company can use any device they have at hand connected to the wireless network to receive or transmit information. At the same time, IEEE establishes standards of wireless networking transmission methods, which the company cannot ignore. In fact, these standards are the must to follow because the company cannot ignore existing legal norms and develop its network violating existing standards and regulations.
On the one hand IEEE limits the progress of the wireless network and data transmission because the company cannot introduce innovations, which improve wireless network or methods of data transmission, immediately. On the other hand, the existing standards allow the company to use technologies similar to that of its rivals that puts the company in the equal position compared to its market. At the same time, these standards focus on the use of tested and reliable wireless technology that naturally decreases the risk of information breaches or malfunction of the network.
IEEE 802.11a
In addition, IEEE 802.11a expands the data rate established in IEEE of up to 5 Mbit/s using the 5 GHz band. This is a consistent improvement, which allows transmitting larger volume of data and increases the speed of transmission consistently. Therefore, these standards will help the organization to share information fast and effectively. This standard opens larger opportunities for the use of the wireless network to transmit data within the organization and between the organization and its customers and business partners.
IEEE 802.11g
IEEE 802.11g standard extends throughput up to 54 Mbit/s using the same 2.4 GHz band as 802.11b. On the one hand, IEEE 802.11g expands the throughput but, at the same time, it still limits the band to 2.4 GHz. As a result, the company cannot use the broader band as it could, in case of following IEEE 802.11a standards.
Conclusion
Thus, IEEE standards are important for wireless networking data transmission methods and the company should follow these standards to meet the requirements of customers and national regulations.
