BACKGROUND
Artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s canvases seem larger than life. Her early New York skylines, the huge closeups of flowers, and desert scenes of bleached skulls and bones are representative of distinct periods in her art. O’Keeffe enjoyed an unconventional life with her husband, the photographer Alfred Stieglitz, and a literary and artistic circle of friends.
