BACKGROUND

With Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait on August 3, 1990, the United States moved to protect its economic interests in the Middle East by mobilizing American service-men and women as well as reservists. Led by H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the Allied Forces won a victory over Saddam Hussein and his Revolutionary Command Council.
